Heated Drivers Seat Intermittent
This is a strange one. I've only had my D3 for about five-six weeks and the heated drivers seat doesn't appear to work or if I feel anything, it is rather anemic. My mechanic checked things over this week and said it appears to be working and Testbook shows 26 degrees. So I turned it on yesterday and left it to run. Not much with two lights on dash switch, went down to one light and shortly thereafter the seat really warmed up but I'd been driving with the heated seats on for at least 45 minutes. Same thing last night, took a long time and then finally kicked into gear. So if it is working, and it is when it chooses, that means fuses are good, heating element is good, so why does it have a mind of its own? Looked at the connectors I could see under the seat today and everything looks good. I was thinking loose wire (as the outside of the seat cushion leather cracked in the cold a few weeks ago )until I read on another post that the seat and back are separate so that idea is pretty much out the window.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Have you looked at the battery voltage whilst turning the seats on? Before, during, after the switch is pushed? You might have an electrical load management issue - as simple as charging the battery to diagnose.

As above, the power management will prevent the operation of the seat if the power is low - it's pretty low on the priority list.

I will look at that and that was a thought as I read somewhere the seats wouldn't work until the battery reached a certain voltage.

It's not a set voltage but a set of conditions including load, ambient air temp and coolant temp which are then used as part of a cold start, hot start or continues load matrices. Canadian bums also get a bit more heat than those in the UK!

and I've got a Canadian bum We've been spoiled by my wife's 2004 Mercedes C240 which heats up really fast right off the bat.
Will discuss with my mechanic friend as it's going down to the -20 Celsius again this coming week

Ask him to look at the battery and the charging system, rather than your bum. Minus 20 is not kind to batteries (or even bums).

It appears to be confined to my drivers seat only. The passenger seat works great and as it should so not the power management system. Looking at the Topix, it appears each front seat has a temperature sensor. I'm starting to wonder if the one for the drivers seat is defective. It does work but it appears it doesn't kick in until the D3 seems to be warmed up.

Robbie, do you know if the temp sensor shown on the ATC are actually connectors to left and right seats on the back of the unit. As the passenger seat works fine, I could always pull the unit out, swap the connectors and have a working drivers heated seat and I can then deal with the issue when it's a bit warmer to work outside, assuming it's the sensor and not one of those little resistors somewhere inbetween.
Update: did a bit more research, looks like wires to both are on connector C2295 as you mentioned above. If I swap the wires, it should tell me if the problem is in the ATC or the thermistor on the heated seat. Hopefully I'm getting closer. Should have it solved by the time warm weather arrives
