What travel insurance for the Pyrenees?

I'm off to the Pyrenees for 2 weeks, so what travel insurance do I need? As I'm going off road, do I need a special Overland insurance? I'm worried that the standard travel/medical insurance is not sufficient?

So what travel/medical insurance have people taken out that have been to the Pyrenees, or even non UK based off roading for that matter?

Thanks
John

don't know about insurance but I will go there too in 2 weeks. Vibraction RB1 and maybe some from RB 2 and 3. No Disco sticker, but Atacama Sand and Dutch plates. Have fun! And if you drive save, who cares about insurance......

Check motor insurance - some companies standard policies exclude Andorra Confused

we have LloydsTSB travel insurance for health and travel, and it doesn't matter where you go as its not linked to a vehicle but linked to you

if you have your E1-11 card with you then you are covered for medical issues as well under the NHS. not sure about Andorra, but if you are injured you could always stagger across the border to spain or France

Don't forget the E1-11/EHIC does not cover the cost of the repatriation back home should that be necessary, so the correct travel insurance policy is still important.

For the best advice, speak to a local Insurance Broker, tell them what you will be doing while on holiday as some policies automatically exclude certain activities. Thumbs Up

Most of the tracks we drove in the Pyrenees the last two years are driven my the locals in their Corsa's or whatever - some exceptions obviously - and the rozzers where in their normal car when we met them Whistle
