I have dust entering into the tailgate where the upper meets the lower at the corners, the dealer has replaced the seal on the body but not the upper tailgate. they have also had a go at adjusting the lower tailgate with some success on the left hand side but not the right. it will be going in for it's first service soon and was wondering if anyone had this issue and have had the upper tailgate seal changed before I start to have a tinker with it as I could plant crops in the boot at the moment (no, not those RRS type crops)

Sorry CW, but us Brits are suffering from one of the wettest periods for a long time, so dust is at a premium in most of Western Europe at this time

I also have dust ingress at that location, but it doesn't seem as sever as yours is. Keep us posted if you find a solution to stopping it. I do a lot of desert running so it could be a problem if it gets worse. Gary

Hi CW,
I've had fine dust enter the upper tailgate but it is not heaps like you seem to have.
You can see where the dust enters because the rubber seal will have dust where it shouldn't be.
I don't think you can stop all of the dust entering because the rear door will flex a bit on the seals and the way the dust is sucked up onto the back it will always get in IMHO.
So if the amount of dust is heaps then the tailgate needs adjustment but if it is fine dust from dirt road driving then I reckon you won't be able to fix it 100%.
Also if you take off the rear tail lights you'll find vents in there with a rubber flap keeping them covered which might be another point of entry.

can easily see where the dust enters, will have to dust off the spanners and have a play I think.
