Removing side tubes [or steps]

Looking to remove [and sell on] my black side tubes.
Not been under the D4 yet, but reckon they're secured by 3 or 4 bolts to the floor along each tubes length.
Question is, when I remove these bolts, what do I use to plug the holes?
Or are these bolts pre-fitted to the underside and all I do is screw the bolts back in after removal of the tubes.
Confused

If they are secured in the same way as the side steps...then the holes were pre-drilled and threaded, then covered with a small-self adhesive patch to stop all the Censored getting in.....I would just do the same in reverse ?

Thanks Euan, that's half what I was half expecting ....
...... sticky tape covering holes in the floor .... ideal for wading Rolling Eyes
If there aren't proper bungs I'll fill the holes with sealant before putting sellotape over them.

Ron, we could have taken them off yesterday. I had a tow rope in the car. Whistle

TBS, I think you'll need new sill trims, not too pricey. Unless dcm's tree sliders took your fancy. Whistle

B*gger, and I could also have had a tooth taken out as well Laughing

No, won't need the sill strip, it's only removal of steps that would need that.
Tubes are secured underneath only. Thumbs Up

Ron,

tubes are mounted with 3 T50(i think) torx bolts and they do fit thru the plastic sills so you DO still need replacement sills even if you replace for steps or sliders as the mounts are different and the cut outs in a different place

rgds

Darrell Thumbs Up
