Hi all,
Got my ex demo 2013 D4 GS but with park heat and meridian stereo, took the dash apart today, have a look at the pics I have taken I have ordered the 1m male male extension to go from the display to the end down by the gear selector, for the rear camera, will order the camera and loom etc from TLO.
Is this the complete nav unit or is there another unit like in my old D3, mine does not have the nav but as you can see does have the large touch screen any chance the nav is there just not enabled!!!! and all I have to do is add the GPS ant.

That looks like the same touchscreen unit.
I don't know about the nav being there and not activated, would imagine it would need the Hard disk and gps etc.
When you get the camera activated in the CCF you could always try activating the Nav present bit to see if it works....but wouldn't hold my breath.
Nice to see the new GS's come with a proper screen
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks G,
I don't think this is normal with the GS, I thinks its coss it's got park heat and poss meridian HiFi, I have the 4x4 screen and DAB and IPhone interface and all the phone interface, it seems it's very rare to have this on a GS as no one else seems to reply, i'm sure I can get the rear camera to work as per your write up once I have the CCF modified, even if I don't get the Nav still a big improvement on the D3, thinking of getting the new Nano from BBS to do my own CCF. Thanks for yor help

Can someone confirm what type of female to female Fakra cable is required to go from the male below the centre console (rotary gearshift) and to the display head, seems to be a little confusion the Brown Fakra ends seem to be type F so do I need a type F to F or F to Z , Help pls.

Yep that's what I have ordered from the chap in Poland, just so everyone knows, Fakra are basically SMB keyed connectors made by Amphenol and using RH174 thin Coaxial cable. They are made with a slightly different slot on each from A to F so you can not plug a B into a D used lots in the military. they are also colour coded, this is the bit that throw me as the Disco are brown so D, but the Z light blue are universal so they fit all ends, just have to remember that the disco are male at the head unit and male at the end under the centre console.
You can get a female socket Z with 1/2 meter of tail from RS £5 ish and then you could join ( solder inner, insulate than shield ( tin foil) and join outer shield and again insulate.
Cheers all for your input

Reversing Camera ib Diag mode
Just got the Fakra cable all connected up, have not had the CCF gone yet so I have checked in the Diag mode on the touch screen, on Video, I get 45 degree rapid flickering black white lines and no picture, should I be able to see the normal reversing camera picture in there?????? if I disconnect the Fakra cable the screen goes black so its seeing something, help pls, got the camera and new harness etc. from TLO lines. I'm waiting for Geoff to come down to rewrite the CCF unless some knows someone around here that can do it.
Cheers

Sean,
That screen is 'normal'. I am sure there was a topic a while back on it. Will, try and find it.
