Oil level reducing?

Hi guys I have a 2012 discovery 4 and it's done 7000kms, my dealer asked me to change the oil at 5000kms and when he changed it, it was not full two lines above the middle where is says OK but now its done 7000kms the oil has reduced and has come just above one line to the middle, is this normal? I asked the dealer and he says the synthetic oil does get reduced and if it comes till the middle we need to top up but I am not satisfied, I had 100 series land cruiser before and I never had to add up oil, I'm really confused don't know if whatever he is saying is true?? Is this normal with Discovery 4???

Don't trust the oil indicator. Sad

To get an accurate reading you need to leave it a lot longer.
I think mine was overfilled at delivery.
I manged to get a reading if half empty and then full a half hour later.

When you do an oil check it will tell you if you need to add any, and how much. Mine didn't need any in the first year at 7000 miles.

Checked my 3 month old MY12 D4 today. It's showing about 2/3s to 3/4s - Says its ok and I have no messages to add any. It's done 3600 miles. I'm not worried. They all seem to use a bit until they've "loosened up" Thumbs Up

The graphite engine block will absorb a certain amount of oil ...this is quite normal Thumbs Up
