Exhaust tailpipe
Developed a rattle on my March 2012 Disco 4 and on further inspection the offside tailpipe was loose and hanging on a single rubber support. Can anyone tell me if there should be more than this single support and should there be a rigid connection between the tail pipe and the main exhaust? or is it designed to be loose and twist? Would a repair be covered under the manufacturers warranty (its not impact damage).

Should be covered under warranty.

Had it into stealers yesterday; apparently a known fault with the exhaust where the weld between the main pipe and tailpipe fails. Should of been fixed today, but wrong parts delivered/ordered. Hopefully collecting tomorrow, assuming the right parts turn up?

Funny that, mine failed near side tailpipe at a join about 18" in front of tailpipe silencer. Land rover assist had seen a few- said it required new system from centre box backwards. Went to dealer- they have essentially pushed the pieces back together and clamped it tight. Consequently rather cheap and nasty looking 17mm nuts protruding beneath the exhaust which looks really naff and if I were selling no doubt would knock value off. Dealer has said it's LR's approved repair! Currently trying to resolve with LR customer service - not impressed in a car that cost >£50k and only 18 months old.

mine went a few weeks back .(OSR)
they did a temp repair at first ...then said LR would only authorise a weld and not a replacement exhaust
welded up a week later... all good again
the newer exhaust does not have the crimp on it now aparentlyG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
