I bought a Discovery..
..so I could go to places like this. Long Point on the Snowy River, Victoria. Closest I could get to driving on the beach in Vic. Pictures taken with my iPhone 4S

My little sister lives in Kyneton and I'm really tempted to follow her after seeing your pictures.
Gosport is just down the road from me, and from memory the beaches round that way aren't quite as clean. Gone but far from forgotten 55' plate HSE.

Explore all you can whilst you can..
I did the same in NZ some years ago & in Ireland years before that...
All part of life's big adventure & wouldn't have done it any other way...BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Thanks for the nice comments on the pics.
I think I fell in love with my Disco all over again this day. I ended up with three 'firsts' getting to this spot -
1. First time using HDC. The aerial view from crews control clearly shows the track leading to the beach, but you really do not appreciate quite how steep the descent is from above. Or how slippery with loose surface. The sign at the top is not kidding - it really is for 4WD only.
2. First time using Sand mode. I was a bit dubious going onto the sand since it was very soft and deep. Fortunately there was another guy there with a fully loaded Land Cruiser. He had an on-board air compressor, so I was able to let my tires down a bit, and was happy to know he had a winch as well should it be needed. I needn't have worried - the Disco took it all in its stride, effortlessly.
3. First time using Low Range. Going back up the steep descent, obviously.
