airbag red warning symbol on
Hello. The red airbag light in the dash turned on this morning and remained like this. Tried disengaging/reengaging passenger airbag, didn't help. Phoned LR and their advice was try to avoid strong collisions until we check this... Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hi, I have just had this problem, I had to put up with it for 10 days or so til I could get it into a dealers. They traced mine to a fault in pass seat belt pre tensioner, but it could be a fault in numerous items I would imagine. Pre tensioner replaced / tested, and has been OK since. Get it booked in asap. and good luck.
Hi,
Had the same problem recently - it was easily solved by the dealer just by updating the software, there was no hardware problem and the airbag light didn't show up since. (as I recall, think it was the yellow light, not the red one - sorry)
Seems we are driving a computer nowadays.
Good luck.

Light
I had the problem, it turned out to be a bad connection in the right piller at the side airbag. This was probably due to the leaky sunroof. At the time, I wanted them to check/clean/dry the airbag, but the said that it was fine. So, yet another trip, 3 days in the shop, and it was corrected. So, if it's nothing else, that will also cause the trouble.

Thank you all for the tips. I shook the black boxes under the seats (didn't help), will knock the side trim and will keep you posted after the visit to the dealer.

I've also had this fault! (Twice) The first fix was as the technician told me, "a loose connection" on the ECU When the fault ocurred again a few weeks later, it was diagnosed as a black box problem. The control unit was replaced under warranty and to date (fingers crossed) no more SRS warning light.

Well, they decided it was a communication failure between some sensor and the ECU and a reset of the messages removed the warning. That's all they did.
