post flooding/snow clean
Only being a recent convert last year to the D3, can someone brief me on the protocol for cleaning please?
Previous Land Rovers of mine have all happily cruised the streets with that 'I can go anywhere and I have been' look of mud splattered sides and opaque windscreen save for the bit the wipers clear. Additional brownie points are a bonnet that looks like it has seen off a bow wave from a muddy flood, wheels that are muddy up to the centre cap and wheel arches that are drawing envious looks from people who are on the local Allotment waiting list, for the potential to grow potatos in the deposits.
So, how long is it reasonable to leave the D3 dirty? just to say to the neighbours, "yes, whilst you were stuck at home and in fear of driving any distance in case you (a) drowned or (b) became marooned in a snowdrift, I went to work, did the shopping and carried on my life as normal."
Currently I have clean lights and windows surrounded by a mud/snow/salt encrusted Java Black

I have always made of point of leaving mine dirty for at least a week after an off-roading trip, it get loads of attention in the hospital carpark. I like people to know its not a 'chelsea tractor' but is a working vehicle, doing what it was designed for.
I do however keep the underneath clean & don't want to increase the risk of damage or premature wear.Nick

Mine gets washed infrequently, but you do need to keep lights and numberplates clean.
