Eventually found a black grill badge for the D4 grill, it looks as good as OEM and fits perfectly, it's just a little pricey at £20.

But is that the RR/RRS/D3 ones, they are smaller than the D4 ones at the front. The D4 ones should also fit the D3 aluminium or stainless grill upgrade. Joined the BMWX5 45e group
