Water in passenger side footwell.

I have noticed water this afternoon on top of the rubber mat in the passenger footwell. On closer inspection it looks like the plastic sil cover at the bottom of the door on the floor has come loose. It looks like one of the plastic clips has snapped.

Phoned the local stealer and taking it into there tomorrow. Hoping for a warranty repair!

Any experience of this issue??

Hi,

often the water comes from the sunroof. The tube on the passenger side (in Germany in the right, in England on the left) will be clogged at the end (in the air intake at the fender). Or the the tube is not fitted properly at the roof and the water will run from the roof trim up to the a-pillar in the footwell.

It could also be a blocked or disconnected air conditioning overflow pipe that is in that area.
I have had problems on at least two occasions with this. It was easily cured with a 15min visit to the dealers.
Hope this helps.

Leak repaired today at the local dealer. It was coming from the windscreen pillar seemingly problem with clips. Anyway they said this was a recall and that they have changed out the parts in question on both sides and tested it and all now ok.

Good service today from the garage.

Maybe worth other D4 MY2011 owners taking a look at.

Cheers,

Mark
