Hi Guys, Once parts arrive and we leave Broome, our next port of call is Darwin where the car will need it's 108,000km service. Any suggestions for Sevice Agents in Darwin. We were thinking of going to Darwin Land rover 34 Stuart hwy, Stuart Park, Darwin.... Wayne I thought you might have a suggestion.

The 108,000km is just an O service - as such the only work that is required is to change the oil and oil filter and check the battery (top up if needed). There is nothing else in that service.
I would be doing that myself. Even Ultratune could do it.

Hi Kev,
Keep a look out for my Disco, it now has NT plates on it and can bee seen around Darwin driven by my daughter.
I will be over there in first week of August if you are still around.
Had my Disco to Mitsubishi, who do LR servicing and it has been a continuos nightmare. Wanted to get the rear tailgate fixed (broken cable) and they wanted to do a pre inspection ($300) before they would determine if it was covered under Alliance. I then had to bring it back within a month to have the work done or they would need to go through the process again (another $300) Bit difficult living in Singapore and daughter with a 10 month old.
Not been helpful at all, but little choice up there either. ARB don't do servicing don't know about TJM
Hope you are enjoying your trip
cheers

Ultratune at Palmerston said they could do my next Disco service. They service daughter holden crude and was half the price of Darwin Holden dealer.
Palmerston is about 20 k out of Darwin on the way to the turn off to Katherine Take the road less traveled. Hi Big Kev,
Service in Darwin for a Disco3 is a doubtful process. We had our 90K service done there at the Mitsubishi place and were charged over $850. They told us the new - just replaced - rear diff was full of water and when I questioned that (as it had just been replaced in Brisbane) they amended their diagnosis and said it was the material from the new diff that had discoloured the oil and that the oil should be replaced. It took all day to do the service and when I asked to see the vehicle up on the hoist they refused. My advice is to steer clear of getting any vehicle serviced in Darwin but more especially a LandRover. They are too busy and don't have near enough trained service mechanics. If you are heading west and can last till Geraldton there is a great place there called Whyatts Automotive who specialise in LR and have been working on them for many years. They are helpful and polite and seem to know their stuff. LR Australia have just made them a LR Service Centre.
Our trip round OZ in our Disco3 was marred by the lack of available service centres. At one stage we had to back-track from Blackall to Brisbane to the "nearest" service centre to get repairs. That cost us nearly $5K for the repairs and was a rude start to our trip.
Happy travelling and take plenty of spares.

Hi guys,
I have spoken to TopEnd Rover up here and they can do a service on the LR. I will have the vehicle to them in the next few weeks to have a look at before the warranty expires.
They have been recommended by a number of LR owners from another forum.
Last service done by Ultra Tune in Palmerston who picked up the leaky gasket, which is now being repaired under Allianz warranty. Service from UT cost $267, LR (Misubishi) Darwin charge $160 per hour Take the road less traveled.
