Oil pump housing 2005 HSE, no visible signs of stress or cracking, doesn't appear to have the reinforced shoulders around the mounting point though!Faultmate Owner

I also replaced the fuel filter! I was really worried I had a diesel leak after doing that until I discovered the smell was coming from my beard Faultmate Owner

so what about the belt at the rear? How did you manage that without the body lift of

You do the rear belt by feel and unsighted, if you are a Star Wars fan you use the force, it's fiddly but do able Faultmate Owner

Hello Please tell me how you fixed the crankshaft, you have a special intsrument or you did without it. You do not remove the starter motor and did not fix the flywheel?

I did not fix the crankshaft or remove the starter motor! I did mark up the crankshaft with white paint to ensure that it did not move during the belt renewal process though, check out the picture on this thread Faultmate Owner

Thank you. The manual says how to change timing belt, there should fix the cankshaft.

You should lock the crankshaft when doing the belts, but the starter can be a pig of a job to remove, so most people only mark the crank pulley, as it does not turn when the belt tension is released. And as long as all the marks line up after putting the new belt on, and turning the engine, jobs a good one My D3 Build Thread
