We're the EGR valves faulty ? Or at least one ?

Mines been stuck for a couple of thousand miles and was replaced last fri for a none faulty one !
My fuel economy went down 3 ~ 5 MPG ?

Not sure it was reading right and they are optimistic on the dash ? Your not doing bad to get 27 either that's about average I think ?

Plus the hike in fuel has been cancelled so your already winning !

Did the drop in mpg coincide with winter setting in and temps dropping?

I am a quite late with post reply. It was good weather and warmish when new valves fitted. My mpg was down straight away after installation. As I kept putting mileage on the figure rose steadily.. It got up to 31.7. As winter came in and now in cold weather, I am fluctuating between 31.3 and 31.2

Mine did the same last year when mine piled in, The MPG figs took a nose dive when a new one was fitted, the consumption before with a faulty valve over 3K miles remained steady and felt no problems at all ?

on Sunday i drove from London - Doncaster and it felt rough, knocking and tappety ! i got in it monday morning and low and behold engine management light came on
Big Cry

Straight away it feels a lot smoother and sounds a lot better, i've not replaced it as yet as its due its 90K service in another 2 months so i think i'll just leave it ! it must be stuck open ?
