South Scotland? Borders perhaps. Peebles would be my recommendation. Lovely town. Excellent site with bar and a shortish walk in to town. (downhill). Tent site is at the top, a bit exposed but superb views and good grass pitches with hook-up if required. Very good facilities.

I agree !
Peebles, lovely border town with a good chippy and some strange in a good way pubs !
There's a camp site in Peebles or just down the road at Glentress there is one there which also has them Glamping things ? Yurts or whatever they're called,
My advice would be camping ! If you introduce her to Glamping the next thing you will be doing is buying a log cabin in the woods somewhere, not a good move, Only dead fish go with the Flow !

Have a look at Solway View Borgue, Dumfries and Galloway. My brother and family have been more than once and rate it. On the odd sunny day we get in Scotland, you will be able to see Cumbria. Richard
