Discovery 3.0 TDV6 GS AUTO - 130K Miles (Valuation needed)

Hi,

Going to see a stealer tomorrow but worried about the mileage as it is on the heavy side with just over 130K miles.

2010 Model
Land Rover D4 3.0 TDV6 GS 5DR AUTO
Metallic green with black leather
Tow bar fitted with electrics
Air conditioining
Keyless start and remote central locking
Radio with CD player
Bluetooth phone connection
Remote audio controls accessible via the multi function steering wheel
Adjustable suspension height
Full service history
Remote central locking
ABS
Alloy wheels
Folding rear seats
Immobiliser
Passenger airbag, Side airbags
Traction control
Body coloured bumpers
Isofix child seat anchor points
Reverse parking aid
Space saver spare wheel
PAS
Alarm
130K miles

So what is the experts view on the above spec priced at £17K.

Should the heavy mileage be a worry? What about Auto Gearbox with that mileage and timiing belt wear etc. What do I have to negotiate with the dealer given the spec above?
I do about 8K miles a year so even if I keep it for 2-3 years the D4 would have done about 150K miles by the time she is ready for a new home.

Thoughts needed.

Best

Hi, a D4 for 17k is good, however as you say the miles are pretty high. Its also basic spec. I would just insit they put a full 12 months warranty on it, then you have nothing to worry about really. Im presuming its a LR main dealer ? Oh, and negatiate a few more quid of of course.

Worried? Be cautious with committal then. Any worry you have with a car pre purchase will be intensely amplified once you have parted with all that money irrespective of whether a D4 can cope with 130k in 3 yrs or not.

Just my opinion based upon other purchases in the past though

Main dealer wouldn't sell a car to an individual customer with that milage, niether would they give it a warranty for obvious reasons. I have had cars in the past with similar and higher milage and they have been trouble free for another 20/30k miles when I have upgraded, but I have had Land Rovers with less milage and they have been a money pit. Biggest problem is when it's time to sell. Nobody will be interested. try and find the history of it including what it's been used for, if it belonged to a farmer or some one simalar forget it, if it's motorway miles should be ok, its what you can't see you need to worry about, Get a reliable second opinion of the condition before you proceed, it could be £50 well spent, after all you would not buy an house without a servey.

It can't be a main dealer as they can't give a warranty on a car over 100k miles.

Depends where it is in the maintenance cycle. If most parts that wear have been done like suspension and has full service history it will probably be lower risk.
