THULE EASY BASE ??
Hi all
thinking of getting thule easy base with bike racks and bag for the back of my dico 3 2005
does anyone know if it has hinges so it all drops down so you can open the tail gate while loaded.

Bought one couple of weeks ago along with the box, yes you can just slacken the nut onto the tow barand it drops to the floor, fold the vertical bar forward and you can open your tailgate or you can have it off in about 10 secs MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

I have one with the box.
it doesn't "hinge" down, no. As SHARKY says you can loosen it on the towbar (lying on your back with your face under it hauling with a spanner), and it will then droop downwards - but if it's laden with 50kgs you're going to have to get SWMBO to lift it's weight back up while you tighten it back up.
You do NOT want to be doing this in a hurry! (or at all, to be honest).
I've not tried ours on the Disco yet. We always used it on the back of the Audi Allroad. When we had it on, the boot was off limits. Careful packing required! (For example, we put our tent in the boot behind the single-fold-down seat, so we could arrive at site, pull the seat forward, pull the tent out, and set up camp. We'd have the tent up, carpet down, beds made, dinner on, and kids in their jammies before even thinking about slackening the thule off the back.

Actually, I should clarify; it's harder when the solid "box" is fixed to the base and rear vertical bar - if you don't have the box on, you can just slacken the big black tighteners to fold down the vertical bar.
CAUTION - we slackened those big black hand-tightened nuts once and left them slack. We lost both on the motorway that day.
