Chipped Windscreen
Got a stone chip today on my windscreen
Should I use one of these auto glass companies and get it repaired? Do they work? Anyone know of a rough cost? I have looked online but nobody seems to put any kind of figure up..
I have LR insurance...anyone know if they'll pay as from what I can gather there wouldn't be an excess so could be worth it...?
If they repair the chip it will still be visible but will stop any further damage and should be free through your insurance.
Dealers tend to use auto glass companies anyway.
I don't know if you can just pay your excess and just have the screen replaced anywayZermatt silver 06 reg.
If you've got glass cover chip repairs are normally free, just contact your insurer to check and find out who their approved repairer is
Stick a bit of tape over it to keep the muck out of it, although they will normally do their best to clean it before repairing it any muck deep in the chip is difficult if not impossible to shift. The cleaner it is the more 'invisible' the repair will be when it's completeThe End

I had one repaired by national windscreen ..cost £25.
Diddn't bother with my insurance , although national windscreens said most would pay out and you don't loose your no claims.
They said its best to get it repaired as it can get moisture in it and crack more.
It is still visible , but iv learned to ignore it now.
I keep getting little dings in it (mostly motorway driving ) so im saving my insurance claim for the "biggy" when it happends.G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just contacted LR insurance...they put me through to the Autoglass (I think) and it will be repaired FOC if it can be repaired...should be...it's not huge.
Appointment was going to be Monday or Wednesday but I said that I was "off roading" at the weekend and was worried about the stress that could be put on the glass, not to mention the dirt, and hopefully I will be squeezed in tomorrow....Car is going to be in the dealers...hope that will be alright with everyone.
