Golly... what have I done? |
|
Just got back from the dealers with documents in hand and I collect my 59 D4 HSE next week.
She's Santorini Black (I know, I'll need shares in Autoglym ) with Almond/Arabica interior. Had only just come in, wasn't on the system and was part of the Approved Used event. Specced up to include an extra 2 years warranty on top of the deal (giving 4 in total) and with a not-too-shabby part exchange for our 9 year old Kia, I think I've done quite well.
They're fitting towing electrics for me and I'll supply the towbar (well... eBay will...).
Going to be getting in touch with TLO shortly to find out about the few bits that I couldn't get out of them - squeezed hard enough for them to squeak I reckon.
Very excited terrified excited terrified excited terrified er...
I'd show some pics but I didn't take any...
She's got aftermarket Privacy fitted, but I'm not sure if I'm taken with it so it was agreed that I'd live with it for a few weeks and then either have the damaged film replaced, or the whole lot removed. What do you reckon? "The quality remains long after the price has been forgotten." Henry Royce

Same as I have today, 11 D4 HSE in black (previously 2 x TVD6's) and it'a definite leap forward!
I managed 5 months out of a Disco before I cracked and got another.

is it *extra* 2 years warranty? so plus one year warranty for approved used car, equals to 3 years?
How do you get 4 years warranty?

There's a Used Car event on at the moment where they are giving 'free'* two years' Approved warranty plus two years' worth of servicing. I added an extra two years at about £600pa giving 4 years which should cover pretty much everything. I was going to extend the warranty at the end of the two years anyway (and possibly go with someone else but by then it would be over the five year limit so the warranty wouldn't have been as good, if taken out then rather than at inception. A quality warranty that will match the cover of the Approved one was a big plus point.
So, yeah. two years' servicing and four year's warranty. Not bad on a '59'!
* Yes, I know it's been paid for somewhere in the sticker price, but I'm not thinking about that... "The quality remains long after the price has been forgotten." Henry Royce

That's right, the deal is dependent on taking out one of their finance packages but, after crunching the numbers, it works out cheaper than taking finance elsewhere (I'm not made of money, although it may look that way now!) and paying for the services. Well, been back to the dealers today to sort some of the finances out and found her tucked away in the back lot. Still a few bits to do before she's ready for collection, but I'm more excited than terrified, at least.
Thanks for the heads up (and ALL the PM's - you know who you are: thanks!) about the towbar. A little bit of late eBay sniping netted me a new bar for £100 all-in - just waiting on ParcelFarce now.

Don't say that!
She's done 58k so I know that the first service I have to pay for (2 years servicing pack thrown in) will be a big one...
Been out in her today and was grinning the whole time.
Not sure about the level of valeting completed but a quick email to the salesman has (I hope) sorted that for when she goes in for a few niggles to be rectified.
