| Delivery time - what's yours? |

Ordered my D4 XS from an internet broker (they have great feedback and the car comes from a LR dealer, so they seem reliable enough) and they reckon 16 weeks on Discoverys - how does this compare with other January orders? I seem to recall seeing others on here order in Jan and have March deliveries - mine'll be mid-May.
I'm not massively worried about the delivery date as I want to get through this winter in my old car, but of course once the thing's ordered you start getting impatient!
PS Do LR do a mid-year update to specs? Volvo seem to do "MY13.5" around about April, which sometimes makes a difference to spec.

I ordered by XS on 3rd January with an expected delivery of 2nd April.
I'm too getting impatient

Think that's 13 weeks? My chap hasn't guven me a "build slot" like I got when I ordered my Volvo, but says he'll know when it's being built 2or 3 weeks before delivery.

I'm the same, I'm too impatient, that's generally why I buy one off the forcourt, plus I would be too nervous driving a brand new vehicle, prefer one that already has its first stone chip on it, and someone else has paid the depreciation.

Local dealer had a demo that nearly had the right spec, but there were a couple of minor problems with it:
1. It wasn't quite right (no tow bar, one or two extra bits and bobs), so with my minor OCD about having cars exactly as I want them means there'd be a bit of extra expense.
2. It won't be MY13 so there's one or two things that a brand new one has that it doesn't, and to get a MY13 demo then I'd be waiting til April/May anyway.
3. It's the same price as I'm paying for a brand new one (admittedly pre-haggling).

I agree with you andy, if you want a specific spec/colour etc you would probably struggle to find it on the forcourt, I don't envy your wait, but when it arrives you will have the biggest smile ever !

I've seen several people say that their car turned up a month before the original date, but i was wondering when they found it was coming early.
The reason I'm interested is I probably want to at least try to sell my current car privately, and whilst I'm happy to hire/borrow the wife's/cycle for a few weeks, I would like some certainty that it's going to arrive. I read some horror stories a couple of years ago about Skoda Yetis and Hyundai i35s being promised in three months and taking a year to arrive!

Anyone know how long it is from build to delivery, btw?

Ordered my HSE Luxury, in Fuji with black design pack on 28th Jan, got a message from dealer last week that it will be built this week, and I will take delivery week after next.
Can't wait 8)
