Robocino there is a fix, but as yet due to my car breaking down have had to delay it. You need a 'ThermoTop' from Webasto Germany and a small harness made up, the bit I am working on with Webasto now.

When fitted it will work Very Happy

My 2006 model year vehicle came with a Webasto Thermo Top V fitted as a supplementary heater.

According to Webasto press release this heater is "Easier to upgrade from supplementary heater to parking heater" a supplementary heater being one that only operates when the vehicle is running whereas a parking heater can be set (timer or remote control) to preheat the vehicle.

See www.webasto.com/press/en/3023_4996.html for further details.

Correct, but if you want to start a storm of questions, please try the unit and tell us that it works by program. If not you still want some parts and I don't think LR have activated the 2006 model either.

Unfortunately it is not possible to programme it.

However, it can not be overly difficult to modify it so that it can be programmed/remotely controlled.

Yes it is difficult, beleive me we all thought that. Have you been into the control by pressing the 'i' at the end of the left hand stalk etc?

Who told you the heater was a Thermo Top?

It has markings on it that indicate that it is a Webasto type TT-V. A web search indicated that Thermo Top V is abbreviated to TT-V see http://www.dupont-presse.de/ep/ep-2004-15-e.doc

BN, just picked up my D3 today, the webasto has TT-V written on it too. I have not had time yet to try to set it up as a pre heater, once I've searched on how to do it, I will let you know if it works. If you want to pm me, I see you're in my area, we could always meet up and you could have a look at it. Apologies if I am covering old ground, I have not had time to follow the history of the previous threads on this subject.

djh don't bother to follow the old threads there are loads. The first thing to do is take a picture of the top and post it in the gallery. The second is to look for 2 wires on the top that lead to a little block that looks like a connector, but in fact is a simple holder. They are not connected in mine. Failing that we can meet up as you say.

Be interesting to see if new machines come with different (for better or worse I guess) FBH rigs.

Is it fixed or is it completely disabled ?

Photo evidence please.
