Parking Brake help required |
|
Can anyone help me, I need some advice / pictures , on how to inspect and clean the parking brake setup.
I have a slight squeek now and then, and I suspect it's just a build up of brake dust and crap. I have a compressor (and a mask) for cleaning calipers and discs etc. I am used to squeel shims, copper slip for sliders, etc and have always changed my own, pads, discs, shoes etc. But this is a bit into the unkown. Any advice would be great.
The disco is only 14 months old and I supose I should take it to the dealer, but I would take better care of it.
But I'm not saying all dealers are the same!!!!!
Cheers. Arctic Frost Discovery 3 TDV6 SE, Active Rear Diff, Adaptive Head Lights, Tow Pack, Ebony Leather, Roof Rails, Mantec Guard. Tasmod Stainless Sill plates. Grabber AT's. Home made mud flaps. Side Steps back on until the next time.

You should subscribe to Land Rover GTR (See the sticky post at the top of Technical Forum on this site for a link)
It will cost you a subscription, but you will then have access to the full on-line work shop manual and technical library for the vehicle. If you plan to do your own mechanical work then you will find all the procedures there.
I suggest you try it for a day subscription. Certainly would be cheaper than a dealer rate for a park brake strip and clean.
