Hi All.
Having a pain closing the tailgate, every time when I close the upper tailgate, it just won't latch. The only way to lock it, is to have a large amount of pressure in the center of the tailgate, so it doesn't rebound. It may only need some adjustment, but dealer says it will wear in, lol.
All help is great.

Hi Rob,
You probably already know this but your dealer is talking Its a brand new car! Telling you that one of the doors not closing properly will "wear in" is about as much use as Anne Frankes' drum kit was to her!
Speak to the dealer principle and if he doesn't get it sorted, then customer services should !

Had this on the D3...you can adjust the distance between the "keep" and the locator....remove the flexible rubber surround, and there are 2 torx screws...once loosened you can adjust till it sits properly....took me a couple of goes to get it just right "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Thanks all.
Will let the dealer fix it, as they need to replace a broken lumber support knob, do an computer upgrade so the steering wheel control for both phone and radio will work, as well as giving me the correct spare tyre.. fun fun fun, only problem 1000km round trip.

Rob,
Hope you get it sorted mate. Not sure how it works out there but would the dealer be willing to make a contribution to your expenses for having to make such a long trip to get stuff sorted that should have been right from the day you picked your car up?

Asked as I had the same issue with my D4 when new. Alto tried to adjust and failed but I found they had tried to adjust the whole lower tailgate at factory and failed as there was paint missing off the bolt heads Alto tried again and seems to be better but occasionally will fail to latch. Not catching effortlessly like the D3.
I'll get them to look at again on first service, maybe new latch? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
