new car
hello,
this is my first posting on this website and could do with some advice.
i am currently in the middle of a deal to by a Disco 3 TDV6 Auto registered 01/03/06 it has 10 000 miles on it and is an SE Spec.
i am trading in a 04/54 28k miles Disco2 Landmark and a Subaru WRX 03/03 30k miles.
they want £33k and have offered £17k on the disco and £8750 on the Scooby.
is this a good deal or not?

both really.
i am a bit annoyed at the trade values for both cars but i went to 4 dealers and they all seem to be similar.
plus £475 for a towbar, i thought dick turpin was dead.

No he's well and truly alive and operating out of a number of LR dealers around the country ... allegedly those whose name starts with STR and ends in ONE Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
landmark in glasses guide £15300 @29k
WRX £9075 @43K
£34475 is glasses retail for the D3
not a bad deal at all
Ask em to chuck the tow pack in and have a deal with you.

Isn't 33K for a 1 year old SE a bit much? I got my HSE with 13K miles when it was just under a year old for £34K (was listed at 36K and got towhitch, mats and a full tank of diesel thrown in as well).
I see 06 SE auto on the LR used vehicles site for 32K list - i'd expect to get it for 30 - 31k, though I suppose the fact you've got 2 trade ins isn't helping. Maybe you should look into selling one of them privately.IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

the thought of the tyre kickers coming for either one of them is enough to say no to that idea.
we nearly had a previous car stolen by someone coming to see it after advertising it in the paper. it was only the fact my wife and German Shepard were nearby in another car that stopped them but i do see your point though.
want to buy one?

Prices for the WRX are very poor at the moment. They have been for a couple of years as I've found to my cost with a MY98, 03 StiUK and two Evos.
The trade-in prices you've been quoted are actually not too bad, even taking into account the ball-ache of trying to sell two cars privately.
Although the price for the SE does seem a bit inflated. Maybe why the trade in prices are good. A neat wee trick some dealers do to make you feel good about the deal.
Best of luck mate, you will not regret getting the D3
