Remote climate - forgotten so need retro fit!
My car was ordered with remote climate and the (outrageous) appropriate price was paid. When it turned up programmable climate was activated but there was no remote. Basically they'd forgotten.
Very apologetic dealer who has sent me "the appropriate part" and asked that I get it fitted at a local dealer and they'll pay. The "appropriate part" arrived today - and it's a remote. But I thought I'd read on here the remote needs something to talk to (ie an antenna in the car) - I've asked and the sales lady who sorted it says she was told by her service dept the remote and a reprogramme is all that's required - is that right? Or is there another bit they need to send?
Thanks

they may just have forgot to send it ( or it was pinched from the car )
in which case open engine bay fuse box ..remove fuse F2 (top right ) wait 5 seconds .
then pop the fuse back in and withing 5 seconds press and hold the OFF button on the remote
if all goes well the red LED should stay constant for a few seconds
if after that it dosent work ..,.it will proberly need the reciever and antenna fitting ..then enabled ( about £200 for parts )G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Cheers - They're paying for the bits and fitting, it's just that i don't want to book it in and then find that I've not got the required parts.
If the red LED stays on for a bit does that mean it's found an antenna to talk to?

yes
if you press either the on or the off button ..it should flash about 6 times fast if not paired
once its paired the green light will come on solid for a few seconds ..then flash slowley to say its connected
pressing the off button should show red LED on constant for a few seconds
you need to hold either button for about 2 secondsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

As I suspected the remote won't pair, but the local dealer seems to think the antenna can't be retro-fitted (not officially - they're aware of non-dealer fittings). So if it's not fittable I guess the original dealer owes me about three hundred quid...

TBH I'd want a bit more in terms of compensating you for lack of something you wanted spec'd on the car.
then buy one off Nick TLO and spend half an hour fitting it yourself XC90 T8 R Design Pro

The parts are available from Land Rover (and Wiggs ) and take just a short while to fit, not sure whether the antenna part needs enabling but Wiggs can do that also if needed
Edited to add why not get your money back of the dealer and get Wiggs to do the whole thing Cheers Ian
