Torq Tunes required in Cape Town? |
|
Anyone in Cape Town that needs a remap?
I will be in CT this saturday 13th September to perform a couple of remaps (one on a J**p )
If there is anyone else lurking out there that would like to cash in on the Disco3 special, please send me a PM.

Baben.
I may be interested in looking at your spare wheel carrier and long range tank, just to check it out. I am interested in going that route , but don't want to end up with a wallow machine that needs Spiros help!

How dof of me Dang! I guess I just couldn't imagine you without the D3. Oh well, maybe just some advice then. Is it worth going the rear spare mount plus spare tank if you are going to stick with the standard non-Spiros shocks?

Yes, of course. I drove around like this for ages. You just have to be aware of the limitations caused by the decreased handling capability.
It is certainly a bit bouncy, cos with the extra weight (esp. when tank full and boot loaded) you overwhelm the standard shocks and probably wear them out much faster. You just have to be more careful offroad because it wallows like a bushpig.
With the Spiros shocks the vehicle is pretty firm unladen - feels a bit like my RRS actually but when loaded to the gills, it handles like a dream - no bouncing, no wallowing, and great control.

Andrew,
I've had mine now for a year and a half, and have had no ride
related problems at all. You'll have to adapt your driving style a tad,
as with any heavy laden vehicle on or off road. The only draw back is
the swing out spare wheel, for some that is D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

OK, all plans have changed now, firstly I don't like flying on 13th but honestly, friday works out more convenient for everyone - so let me ask the question again,
who in and around Cape Town wants a TorqTune on Friday 12th?
speak up now, and PM me.
we have a couple confirmed already, (thanks guys), and I have almost the whole day to play

OK, there's someone in the Cape Town area driving around with a permagrin on his face. See if you can spot him...
I am sure he'll be in soon to report on his findings
