Disco2 - I'm sure it stated that the 250kg limit was for trailers over 2000kg with the intention that low range was always used, speed was restricted and for short distances only.
150kg was for normal road driving with trailers not exceeding 2000kg.
If memory serves me right....... Disco2 last with us on 23rd December!

Hi to all,
Here in Australia our towing weights are 3500kgs. and 350kg ball weight.
I tow a tandom axle caravan, weighed on a weigh-bridge loaded at 2240 Tonnes, and a ball weight of 220 kgs, with two moutain bikes on a carrier on rear of caravan, I don't know if it's legal in the U.K. Apart from all the technical jargon, It tows with no problem, and I travel at between 90/100 kph.
This is as stated in my Land-Rover Hand book.
Have a safe trip, and give my regards to France, Iwas there back in 1966, changed abit now though. 8) Still Smiling, No Promblems

I was under the impression that 150Kg was a legal max like the 3500Kg as from reading the caravan books 150Kg is the most any car is rated for. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Hi All,
The 3500kg is as stated in our hand-book down here, and we work out the ball weight as 10% of tow weight, which is 350kg this is also stated in our book. Perhaps it good be spec's for Aus, not to sure on that. 8) Still Smiling, No Promblems

Red Dragon is correct but we down under are using the heavy duty tow hitch, it has the weight cast into it. TDV6 SE (Ausie Spec) COOOL Chawton White.
