Been looking at this option myself. I was told no buy Maxx rack if you have a removable swan neck tow bar, and if your caravan has an ALKO Chassis so I have today purchased this http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.asp...p;pk=1D667

If your towbar is fixed it will fit but my local fitter did mention about a height extender.

Cheers

Mark

D3 plus two bike Maxx rack plus caravan... you'll need a fixed towball and the extender. Our bikes touch the jockey wheel handle on almost right full lock when reversing so we have to remember to have the handle rotated so its closest to the caravan.

I've been towing a folding camper with a four bike maxxraxx on a D3 for a couple of months now.
You need the extender to avoid bashing the jockey wheel winder when turning tight corners, but it's been brilliant, and I'd definitely recommend it.
Best bit is being able to get into the boot with the rack still attached, and if you're only carrying a couple of kids bikes without towing, the extender shifts the wheels above the number plate and lights so you don't need an additional tailboard.

Many thanks for prompt responses gents. Confirmed my thoughts that extender was needed and I already have multi height tow bar fitted. I am assuming those of you towing as well are using al ko type stabiliser hitches? If so then it will be time to place my order.
Don't you just love this forum for getting to the bottom of things!
