Has anybody fitted one of these tow trust detachable flange tow bars?
Our current disco has a landrover fixed multiple height unit, but it looks so ugly!
We need the flange type to enable fitting of our bike carrier when towing the caravan, and the tow trust unit looks ideal, as we could remove it when not needed.

The towtrust unit is detachable, and the landrover unit is fixed.
The only detachable unit offered by landrover is the swan neck type, which won't accept my bike carrier.

Ok after due thought, it seems crazy to let the existing fixed multi height bar go with the part ex.
I will remove it and put it on the new car.
All I have to fork out for then is the 13 pin electrics!
Is it a straightforward job to remove it?
Just had a quick look and it looks like the central part just undoes like the detachable bar.
Is there anything special about how the side arms bolt to the chassis?
Or is it just unbolt and remove!

I'vejust fitted one to my MY 12 XS
Far neater than the LR multi height detaches in 10 secs
Doesn't act like a plough off road as it only drops about 4inches below the rear bumper
Same reason for buying for me
I needed to interchange mountain bike, trials bike carriers which can be fitted to the flange

JDB. Have you still got your fixed towbar ? How much is it ?
I have a swan neck food towing the tin tent, but it not 100% happy having read all the horror stories about the detachables falling out whilst being used.Disco 3 TDV6 SE, black, de-badged, blacked out windows, cream leather interior, never seen a dirt track in its life.

Best I can manage at the mo sorry
Dont have the hitch with me
Hopefully it gives you an idea how neet it is compared to LRs effort
also forgot to mention plate supplied allows 2 different heights to be used
Plastic blanking piece just flicks out to allow fitting of the lockable bracket
Dedicated Electrics were also ordered and fitted with no need to get them dealer enabled
Cheers

Looks just like a reworked Witter bar - very similar to that I had on my Sorento
