Traction control kicks in too early when cornering |
|
My D3 has been to the stealers three times for the same problem in the last 2 weeks, and is still currently there.
I had my wheel alignment done a couple of weeks ago. In South Africa we have to take the vehicle to the dealer to do this. They put the vehicle in "tight" mode, do the alignment, and then "untighten" it. The problem arises when I try and go around a fairly sharp right hand corner at speeds above 70km/h. The traction control immediately kicks in. If I do the corner the other way the vehicle sails around the corner with no problem. I even tried it in a van yesterday at 80km/h and the van cruised it. The D3 also feels a bit floaty under hard braking.
The stealers have re-calibrated my steering twice, and tell me on collection that they couldn't find any fault codes so the vehicle must be fine, which it patently isn't. it seems as though they are unable to fix a vehicle without a laptop nowadays.
Any ideas? I need to steer the stealers in the right direction.
Rgds

seeems a bit silly but what about tyre pressures?
Mine is pretty sensitive to getting the pressure right on its road tyres. Certainly makes a huge difference to its planted feel when driven "enthusiastically" end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

have a look at this http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic33245.h...heel+speed
could be the wheel speed sensor, or steering position sensor (as per above link) Duncan
