What about the large boxes that go on the tow bar, think they are made by Thule, may be a better option as in my view the small trailers are not great especially for long motorway journeys MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I help train all over southwest from b+e (car and trailer) to c+e (artic trailer) let me know what area i can let you have some information and details of company's
The test is approx 1 hour 5 show and tell questions an uncouple and re couple of trailer and reversing exercise then a drive for approx 50 min with a dvsa examiner , marks are the same as a driving test.
As said near start of thread the on road driving normally lets most people down.
I help out company's that have there own accredited sites , but you can use a dvsa approved center (normally a vosa now dvsa test center ).
You could use your own vehicle but the trailer has to meet certain requirements (ie loaded ) with vehicle meeting certain standards as well.
Test fee £115 then training costs approx another £300 -£400 depending on area.
With any company look at the instructors see if they have any ADI or LGV register badges. "Its as convincing as a Giraffe with sunglass trying to get into a Polarbears only golf club "
