Hello new on here
Just bought a disco 4 (60 plate)
When i was picking the disco up it had a flat battery, the dealer then jumped it and it fired first time after that, fast forward to me about to drive away and a transmission fault flagged up, dealer told me it was probably due to uaving a flat or weak battery and if it keeps ip to take it back.
Any one on here had the same problem?
Ive had a look arpund and some people are saying that brake lights and brake pedal switches are the cause but just thought id throw it out there.
Cheers

I've had transmission errors on my old 2011 D4 TDV6 2.7 a few times, but they cleared after turning the engine off and restarting. Following all outstanding software upgrades at the 3 year end of warranty service I have not seen it again.
The situation for me was on bush tracks where the gearbox was hunting between gears. I probably should have put it in manual mode at the time.

Ive tried leaving it for several hours and the same problem keeps coming up, also when i drive it the gears dont select properly (happened only twice) going to get a code reader on it and see what it says, also the engine warning light came on with the transmission fault just wondering if its all connected

I would call the dealer and ask for them to come and pick it up if they will. Make it their problem. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Same problem here, bought the car three weeks ago and been able to drive it for two days
Our mechanic located the problem to gear selector module, changed it —> fault is still there
Now waiting for the transfer case module, hence there seems to be some connection problem between the tcm and the gear box.
When the car is on tester and gears are selected (f.e P->D) the gear is shown correct at the main screen and near the gear stick, but tester says ”invalid or unknown data” and fault lights pop up... Discovery 4 3.0TDV6 MY11

Have you find out the problem with your car?
All I'm getting is more delays...
Transfer case control module came friday and the result was that there is nothing wrong with tccm. The real problem is the main transmission control module located inside the transmission.
The transmission control module comes with the valve body and is pretty expensive.
So couple more weeks more waiting. Hope that the car dealer that sold the car has deep pockets.. Discovery 4 3.0TDV6 MY11

To be honest, I haven’t noticed that click, but as Mikey said that should be normal.
Mine is getting huge clunk when the fault kicks in when I put the car to Park.
So far the gear selector module and tccm are changed. Now waiting for the transmission control module. At least I`m getting new tranny oils for the new car as I changed oils for the old girl just before I sold it. Discovery 4 3.0TDV6 MY11
