Transmission Fault after only 35000km(Gearbox replaced) |
|
Good Morning to all,
I have a Disco 4 TDV6 3.0 which I bought in 2010 brand new, it has done 35 000km now.It went for it`s 3de service recently , and when I got it back after 2 days I notice that after stopping everytime you can feel the auto transmission engaging into first. I fisrt thought somebody bumbed me. The service advisor from Land Rover came to fetch my Disco and confirmed the problem. It took land Rover South Africa 17 days to find the problem with no success. The decision was to fit a new gearbox.
My question, will my Disco 4 be as good as new after this, or is this the beginning of many problems?
Once a motor has been opened up it is never the same!
I get a bad feeling about this and can`t come to term with the fact my Disco might never be the same!

Really?? What do you base that statement on? Perhaps in a backyard mate's workshop trying to repair a 20 year old car covered in oil and 2" of dirt (yes, I owned a D1 once!). Wouldn't think it'd be a problem in a modern dealership workshop. And it's still under warranty right?
Cheers,
