Hello all,
am just looking at the P&O webstie as am thinking of booking a day trip to france.
On the website, it asks for car details and the options are
Car up to 1.8m
Car over 1.8m
Lokoing at the discovery 4 part of the landrover site, it puts the height of the D4 if you have a DAB antenna at 1.862metres. (i think this is access height at well)
So basically am asking if anyone has been on a ferry from Dover in theirs and did they have any problems getting on the ferry?

I used to live in Germany so used that route a lot over 15 years or so......we always booked over 1.85m, mainly because theres a lot less vehicles in that lane so you tend to get on and off a lot quicker

Just been out and back - out by Eurotunnel Shuttle and back by Stena Line in both cases we booked at over the 1,8 height.
With the ferries some have low ceiling car decks and the tunnel has double deck trains (very low ceilings) and single deck very high.
We had no problems BUT the it isn't exactly high season.
Whilst on the subject of ferries the new huge ships (66000 tonnes) on the Harwich/Hook run are superb and doing the overnight run the cabins are excellent - highly recommend going and/or returning this way if going east. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Do you have to do anything to stop the battery draining if going on a ferry overnight? i remember something about the new RR when it came out that the g sensor kept leveling etc through the night and the battery was flat in the morning. Also is it easy to isolate the alarm?
