Tread plates - anyone tried these ?
I'm looking for some tread plates to cover the sills which are already showing some wear.
I wanted some that cover the edge so was steering away from the OEM style (or the quality china specials) as they don't cover the edge. Also did not want anything with writing on, i.e. no blingy "DISCOVERY" badging etc. and did not want the full chrome look.
After a bit of searching I found these which appear to fit the bill..
Although just tape I like the look. Been on 6 months now & no sign of wear.

look same as mine.
carefully fitted with 3m tape but when wearing field boots or wellies i often catch the lip overhang and rip the damn thing off! the chrome infill has come out on drivers door which i presume is due to frequent above issue!
i wanted ones that covered the leading edge of door as my last d4 had LR ones and the paint still scratcheh on rim of tread area.XC90 T8 R Design Pro

hmmm - sounds like the "lip" idea might not be a good one. Maybe will look again at the OEM ones and just touch-in and edge scratches .....

only ever clobber them with big boots on, think Hawke do a set of thick vinyl that look to wrap over leading edge giving required protection that aren't too blingy!XC90 T8 R Design Pro

I like the Hawke ones - originally i discounted them becaaue the Hawke lettering was white or grey or something - have seen some now with black lettering so thats fine.... will probably go for those instead. Thanks for the tip Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
