Hi LHD, flydive, there are definitely people with bikes there, especially on the nice road (SS337) from Locarno to Masera before joining the SS33 over the Simplone pass.
Noticing your location, here's a shot taken in Lugano whilst waiting at some traffic lights.

ah you ventured into Lugano's downtown area where satnav is useless.....
Interestingly, there's a multi-storey car park near that and some chap launched himself off the 3rd floor a year or two ago and took the quick exit. His car was bent but he was uninjured. Some scooters did not survive....

I was lucky that the storm was quite violent with plenty of lightening. I managed to get a handful of semi reasonable shots, but most were either very dark or completely over exposed. Another reason to go back to Como.D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Yes, he said he parked, then the car accelerated by itself and went through the wall. Yea, right.
Lucky that he did not hurt himself or anybody else.

Snap!
Me and a couple of friends on bikes went almost the same route a few weeks ago. We went on the Stelvio pass, St Bernards/Bernadino pass, St Gottards pass and the Simplon pass (are those bloody roadworks still going on in the tunnels all the way up one side) Stopped off in St Moritz for a meal too. We met up with our wives in Sirmione on lake Garda for a couple of nights. Fan-tas-tic on a big scooter I tell ya! Can't wait till next year.
Here's a clip - just look at the roads.
