I know this has been discussed numerous times but despite reading all the info I am finding myself confused. I am thinking of having my 07 Disco tuned/remapped/chipped and am wondering what the differences are between the various companies offering these services. I am after a bit more get up and go and a bit more fuel effiency( I know I don't want much!!! ) What are the differences between Turbochip, Torqtune etc ? Is it personal preference, cost, location or performance ??? Hope someone can enlighten me and maybe offer me some advise. Thanks

I ran Torq Tune for 18 months and it transformed the driving experience. It's on the top of my 'to do' list for the new motor in the coming months 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Personal preference, really. They all do much the same. Mine is TorqTuned and I'm very happy with it - much better performance, and fuel economy is miles better too. TorqTune will also visit you, as opposed to you visiting them Disco 5 HSE Lux

TorqTune all the way ..... Give Iain a PM and he'll sort you out. He's a great guy and TTune makes the permagrin experience even more fun. D3 HSE MY09, auto, Santorini Black, Black leather, Black windows ... black IS the colour ...

For the sake of balance, Pete Bell (Bell Auto Services - sponsor) is in the north, and so is Td5 Alive (near Hull) - both rated equally as well as TFC elsewhere on this and other forums. I know Iain would probably travel to you so take your pick.Craig

mines been TurboChipped since 1000 miles and its great.
As for which one is the best. I think if you go for any of the Top 3/4 you will be pleased and they should all be around the same price. TT and TC will come to you, not sure about the others though.
you are always going to get TT customers saying TT is best and TC customers saying TC is best etc etc. I would go with whichever one offers the best service and is most responsive to your request for info.Duncan

Anyone have any recommendations for getting it done in Ireland?

I had it done on my D2 - in theory if you drive in exactly the same fashion and exactly the same route, the extra low down torque will generally get you up to a sustained speed for a lower overall fuel consumption, and maintaining it should be at a better mpg.....
However the reality is that you use the power a lot more and change your driving style to suit, and hence most of the benefit is wiped out by faster acceleartion and improved drive ability (particularly being able to overtake!). Let's face it, if you were happy with the standard tune, that is not a driving style you would take on anyway, you tune it up to get a car more like what you were used to.Craig

juliemc9 we are only 55 miles away from each other.
If you were serious on a remap and could not travel to me, i can come to you if needed.
Sometimes its hard for me to get out of the workshop as ive over 20 dealers to feed tuning to across europe but i could work it out to come to you if needed.
