Cracking vid, but whilst watching the vid I was thinking the same as Pelyma....
Why the need to drive so fast? Was it because the first bunch had chewed up the track so much? It certainly looked worse for wear by the time the two D3s went up at the end, but was so much speed necessary or was it just to make sure?
Again...excellent vid that really makes you wish you were there..... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Just to make sure - we'd sat there for hours whilst a long line of cars in front got pulled over the crest

to see if you could get the bonging and the suspension lowering message !!
Is that the hill from the prologue. if so, it was a lot steeper and slippier than it looks on the vid

I realised that I'd missed a 't' out and written 'I looked worse for wear' instead of 'It looked worse for wear', but I didn't think that anyone would be sarcastic enough to pick up on the mistake....
I'd forgotten about you and should have taken that into account

Yes, it was the one on the prologue. Like you say, it's much steeper than it looks, and a few hundred cars had gone up it before we got there. Mud was running down it that looked like a pyroclastic flow
Got lots of footage of Defeners and Toyboatas Disco 5 HSE Lux

The 'speed' was necassary to get the control/momentum balance right for the D3.... some of the other vehicles were able to traverse the obstacle slower due to their lower mass - check the wheelspin (or lack of it) on the D3's
the second video shows a moderate hill climb AFTER many (80+) vehicles had made a hash of it, the last 20 or so had to be winched up it after their third attempt..... The D3's didn't need any assistance other than a spotter 8)
