It's a big Job.
MacLeod had his done with the body taken off to do it.
Mine was done with body on, but beleive it took 6 hours. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

billewizz,
Sorry and a bit surprised to hear your warranty didn't cover the turbo. I've just had a new one fitted under warranty at Duckworths. As ron states I believe it is a big job and unfortunately not cheap as you will have already gathered.
Good luck with the job. Regards, Trev.

that word brings me out in cold sweats and panic attacks. Unless you know what you are doing, and the patience of a saint to try and undo the bolts, that seem to weld themselves in, and a. Equipped workshop it ain't a DIY job.
It's a known fault, the variable vanes inside naff up, and I would have thought the dealer would help you, even on meeting some of the costs.
Good luck

Just undoing the bolts is the problem and the ammount of space there is to work.

Why won't warranty cover it. Is this the LR original, extended warranty or someone else?
If extended do you have an insurance ombudsman or commission? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

its a long story but here goes .engine system fault on the screen accompanied by engine dropping into get you home mode booked in at dealer and they told me that i needed two egr valves, this is 10 days after manufacturers warranty expired, they would only pay 25% as a good will gesture so through gritted teeth i told them to go ahead job done. On the way home from collecting the car the exact same symptoms showed again rang the dealer and was told there just settling down but i insisted on safety grounds that they should have another look, at this point i took out the tescos warranty and its this two days from ringing the dealer to taking out the warranty that has let them off the hook from paying out, which is all above board but i didn't know i had a fresh problem until a week or so later when i was given the good news that i required a new turbo. do these two problems show up as very simular symtoms on there test gear ? i dont know

I was under the impression that loss of power, coupled with " i " "engine system failure" is a failed turbo tbh. That's what I got

There seems to be a pattern emerging here a bit tenuous agreed but this is exactly the same as my problem. The EGR'S apparently failed and were renewed and on the road test on completion of them being fitted the turbo failed. Any one else had this happen??
