| After turning on FBH , how do I turn it off ? |

Hi , I have a 2005 2.7 HSE with the red wire factory installed in the Webasto heater. I purchased on eBay a circuit that gives the Wbus output. I've cut the red wire and connected my Wbus output to it. When I power up the circuit board the FBH starts perfect and heats the coolant pipes. When I remove power from the Wbus circuit board ,the FBH keeps running. When I then removed my Wbus wire from the red wire the FBH still runs . I've let it run for 30 mins after disconnecting my Wbus circuit , then started the Disco for a short period and turned the engine off and it still runs . The Disco says the outside temperature is 13 degrees C. It appears the only way I can stop it is to remove fuse 28 under the bonnet. Is the bottom right 2 pin plug the 12V supply to the FBH ?, so by breaking this circuit after a set time could I turn off the heater ?
I know there's lots of info out there but I can't figure out how to stop the FBH simply.
I know I could of bought some fancy FBH kits but nothing beats the smile on your face when you figure a cheap way of doing it yourself , or more often, the frustration of someone saying " I told you that would never work"

Everyone will be jealous of that problem. I can only get mine to run for two minutes and then it shuts down. Can you put a link to what you bought?
As far as I know it needs to go through a shutdown process so simply cutting the power will work but might not be the best way of doing it. Is it that it is trying to get the temp up fully or just ignoreing every thing and blasting away.

That's correct. The FBH continues to run but it will purge itself and will eventually shut down, but does take a couple of minutes.
Have patience and I think you'll find it's working correctly. 
I personally wouldn't start pulling fuses, you're likely to upset it and they're temperamental things as it is.  Mods:

That's the ebay link for the Wbus converter. As I said it was running for 30 mins , the pipes were hot to touch and it didn't seem like it was going to stop . I had bought a 12V countdown timer on eBay for a couple of euro that I was going to set for say 15 mins and I thought this is easy and it was, if the FBH heater would just stop when the timer turns off the power to the Wbus converter.

I know it’s been a while but I’ve got the same issue, I fitted a Wbus to one D3 and a temp sensor and count down timer It worked perfectly. Now I’ve took it from my old D3 to my newer one and now I’ve got same problem as yourself. I don’t understand it it’s got to be the fbh settings Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes,pads,callipers,flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

The fbh won’t be turning off because there is no switch off message coming from the wbus converter to the fbh. Try powering on again the wbus converter with fbh running to see if it will send an off message on second power application. Also do not switch the heater off by pulling the main fuse, you will kill the fbh quick sharp.

My system worked absolutely fine on my other car starting it and shutting down but for some reason it doesn’t shut this car’s fbh down Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)

Likely to be a different dataset in this heater and the off message is blocked. From memory the heater will run for 1 hr max anyway, does the heater shut down if you open the drivers door or turn the ignition on?

The heater starts up when engine is first started, I drive home 30-45 minutes then switch off engine, fbh still running and I lock the car. I haven’t tried unlocking the car and opening a door to see if it starts to shut down Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)

Look carefully at the bus converter wiring diagram, there are 3 wires.
1. Earth
2. PERMANENT live
3. Signal
The converter sends a stop signal when the signal wire 12v is removed PROVIDED the permanent 12v wire still has 12v
