didn't like doing this as it's probably the semi-tame one from the garden last year BUT it chose to spend winter in the garage and I was finding bits of foam cladding and tool handles all over the place. gave it a week with the humane traps but enough was enough.

Did the same job in the attic today - found something had crapped on the Christmas Decoration boxes when I went back up to get them last week so had some traps up there - unfortunately found a lovely little vole up there in one today Hopefully its the only one...
Peanut butter works like a charm.
Just got to check my traps for the next week to see if there are any moreMust stop buying shiny toys....

Poor chap must have trapped his foot, on the track in the garage, then starved Iggy/Ieuan

We had some rats raiding the bird feeders - yes, I know it's easy food etc. - so bought a trap in a box like this:

It's got a really strong spring which is what you want for a nice quick dispatch.
Wanted one in a box as we have dogs that will find a way to get a nose where it will get hurt, and wanted a trap as dogs and bait boxes makes me worry. Not unusual for bait to get dragged out by a rat and then dogs can find it.
Anyway, tried the usual such as peanut butter. No joy, trap sat there for weeks. Rats ignored it. So we put in some parmesan and bang! we had two rats in three days. Obviously posh rats around here - only decent cheese for them! Hopefully that's the end of it as we haven't seen a rat since the second one got crunched.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Good tip with the parmesan, I've only used peanut butter in the past. I do believe they are choosy over which peanut butter you use. I prefer to shoot them anyway (well, rats, not mice), it's better sport D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
