Tyre fitting
So I have two brand new and two at 6/7mm Pirelli Scorpions in The shed.
Question is, new pair front or rear?

Technically best at the rear but with 8mm vs 7/6mm not sure it would make any real difference.

Put the new on the front as they tend to wear faster than the rears. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Plus I’ve always found on the D3 and D4 the rears wear out slightly faster than the fronts.

Always, always fit to the rear. Regardless of front, rear or all wheel drive.
Spend 2 minutes on Google for confirmation of this. Basically it’s easier to control understeer than oversteer. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
