Tyre help please
I am still on the hunt for a Discovery 4
I have found a nice car but it is fitted with a set of Accelera Iota tyres.
The car is at the top of my budget so I wont be able to replace them for at least a year. Although I do not intend to do any serious off road I want something that will be safe for the wife on the and will work on grass/mud when we go point to point etc(we aren't snobs I promise).
As always I would appreciate your opinions or options.

The wife will be doing some motorway driving in the car and we will be doing a bit of grass/mud drivingbut nothing serious off roads for now.
Any advice would be welcome

They're rubbish!
Get them off and fit a decent mixed terrain tyre. If you're going to keep them be careful. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

See past any insensititivity in my comment, but if the cost of forking out for 4 new tyres makes your budget unworkable, respectfully you're buying the wrong vehicle. These things can throw a fit in a heartbeat and leave you with a bill - worst case - for 000s. My advice is to look for a different vehicle. These things can leave you with huge bills - even if you're a willing mechanic.PAGODA

I don't know this brand but will offer my limited knowledge as your intended use is similar to my requirements for off road use?
The car when purchased had Pirelli Scorpions fitted and they were fine On Road but would dig in on grass, wet soft ground and lose traction on some reasonably steep inclines that were well within the cars limits.
Did a training day with Pro Trax and one of the other cars was a Range Rover Vogue fitted with General Grabber At3's on 20 inch rims, it went everywhere and the chap doing the training said it was all down to the right tyre for the job in hand.
The traction systems and the ability to select options via the Terrain Response Dial really are amazing and can achieve downright miracles in what I would describe as molten chocolate at their Tixover site, this all on the Scorpions.
I then fitted At3's as the Scorpions wore down replacing two at a time, I would say fit a similar Brand that is recommended for 50/50 use On and Off road?( plenty of info on the forum about that!)
The car just seems to work effortlessly now in the conditions previously described with the AT3's, yes more road noise but on the road I'm doing no more than 60mph but I just enjoy the views!

I realise about these cars being money pits but the initial outlay is bigger than expected so no spare cash.
I was planning to put into a monthly slush fund for the i inevitable unexpected bills.
Rather than a monthly slush fund consider a warranty from Warranty Direct or Motor Easy.
The problem with a slush fund, if your finances are tight, is that a large bill before your fund has accumulated, wreck everything.
It would be interesting to know what size of slush fund others would consider adequate? Before we can advise on that we need more details of the car in question, age, mileage, service history etc.

I was going to put about £125 a month away.
The car I was looking at has a full history and is getting its cambelts changed as a part of the deal.
It is a 2014 HSELuxury with 75,000 on the clock.
Are these warranties worth buying as surely it’s going to be wear and tear.
