(Cancelled the original order and ended up going with the VIAIR 90P [ http://www.amazon.com/Viair-93-VIAIR-Porta...sbs_auto_9 ] which appears to be a re-branding of the Ring Automotive line that Discotres first posted. Albeit the model I went with is one higher! 120psi compared to 100psi! And for half the price of the RAC900.)
It always bugs me how I can get things 10x the size shipped from China of what I order from anywhere else in the world for 1/10th of the shipping price. No wonder why they've become the powerhouse they are--- sheer competitiveness!
Discotres, I've heard the Essex House is superb. Although... I'm about 15 minutes (with no traffic) from Manhattan (NYC)... so, it's been ages since I've stayed in any hotel there.
And thanks for the offer! I don't know how familiar you are with the area--- PM me if you'd like, when you're heading over... I can show you some of the sights to see _outside of Manhattan_!

Can anyone tell me how much current the RAC900 draws please?
I have DIN auxiliary sockets like this:-
http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/din-style-pl...cc037fb680
on all my cars - maximum current 10 Amps - will this be OK ?

Not suitable from a socket, needs clamped direct to a battery or battery pack
SPECIFICATION:
Voltage: 12v DC
Max Current: 23A
Wattage: 280W
Max Pressure: 100psi (requires separate digital pressure gauge)
Air Flow: 55L/min
Air Line Length: 7m
Power Lead Length: Approx 3m

NJSS,
Battery clamps are the way to go as they can provide a lot more current as opposed to an aux socket. The less current you have, the less power the compressor has... so, anything other than a battery-clamp powered one shouldn't even be a consideration!

Thanks Discotres
Two more questions.
1. How long is the 12v cable?
2. From the Amazon website it looks as if a pressure gauge is included.
Many thanks

My only moan if there is one, is that you get a good 3mtrs cable to the battery, but if you are then utilising the extent of the air hose, you have to keep going back and forth to the unit to switch off the compressor to get an accurate air pressure measurement, I guess the answer is to have a handheld digital guage (which I have somewhere) to use to double check the tyre pressure to save all that faffing about
