Mmmm it was jacked up on a four poster ramp, the ramp had two long steel beams that made contact with the wish bones on the suspension.

At one stage one wheel could have been turned whilst the other two/three werent fitted Shocked not sure.

When the key is turned but the engine isnt started the fault doesnt come on, it only comes on when the engine is running .

Update, after looking at it. The front suspension wont adjust butthe back will, the front appears to be staying in its lowest (bumpyist) postion.

|Take it back to them and tell them to fix it. It went in fine, it came out "vigorously loved".

Ha ha i would if i thought they where at fault but i dont think they are, i put the car over the pit at work and you can see where the vehicle has been sat on the wish bones of the suspension when they used the wheel free part of the ramp.

The only thing i can think is that when they used the wheel free part of the ramp is that the wheels dropped when the ignition wasnt on (becuase it would have been in the lowest hieght mode), and the car didnt like that and a resetting it via a LR computor may sort it.

Booked in at 9am in morning so will report back,

Thumbs Up

Have you checked that all 4 tyres are the same size? I had 4 new tyres fitted about 3 years back on my last D3 and they put 3 on that were the right size and one that had a different sidewall depth. Car was NOT happy.....

Na all are 255/60/18 112H

What do you think about the idea that the car thinks its been lifted without the suspension or car being activated ?

Thumbs Up

I've not come across that as a cause for the problem you're describing. It points towards loom damage, sensor damage or compressor damage. Should be easy for a decent LR tech to diagnose though Thumbs Up

Hope so, couldnt see how the tyre company has done anything that would damage the comp or sensors as a trolley jack didnt go near the chassis or body.

Will update you on hear soon as we know what it is

Cheers

The D3 will sort itself out if it gets it's knickers in a twist due to having wheels in the air whilst jacking up....this shouldn't cause the problems once it's had a re-start.

Are you doubly sure that they didn't damage the compressor (as per blue meanie's suggestion)? Stick your head under it (in front of left rear wheel arch) and give the cover a thump and see if anything rattles...

Is there anyway that they could have damaged the front valve block (behind the bumper bar in the front right-hand wheel arch)?

Thanks to everyone who read the post and took the time to reply, i took the vehicle to my local non franchised dealer who said that the Comp wasnt working, although he didnt have the time to fix.
or look into it more.

My local main dealer "Hillendale Landrover near Burnley" came to the rescue and said they could look at it today.

After one hour they came back to me and said that the comp has given up the ghost, and they said that with a new comp and a download it would be sorted.

True to there word it was ready on time and i,m really happy Thumbs Up .

Well done Hillendale, and my local non franchised dealer (who doesnt like PR so his name shall remain unknown) Bow down
