tyre size conundrum

Hi, I've standard 18 in rims on my D3 and just found out BFG's don't make a AT 255/60R18 tyre. nearest size is the 265's . I've had a search around but cant see a topic on this. My tyre supplier is saying that there is a good chance these will rub on full lock.

is there a work around for this? many thanks

They will fit… you can go bigger even… as you have the oldest D3 version with the biggest space in the wheel arch/chassis

I use the pirelli AT+ in 265/65/R18 (rather rough profile, AT tire) both on and off-road…
They never rubbed the chassis, also not on “low” mode..

@ OP

265 is no huge difference to 255 ….. it’s just 5mm wider on the inside and 5mm wider on the outside.

The key missing number is the profile.

Also, “rubbing on full lock” ….. a MY05 Disco shouldn't really be affected by this.
This is mainly applicable to later model D3s and all D4s, due to on outrigger chassis extension which was added to later models.

On my first MY05 Disco, I ran tyres widths at 275, 285 & 295 and had no rubbing issues.
But as said, the key number to any tyre conundrum is the profile …. you can’t quote one without the other.

Brilliant, thanks fellas Smile just ordering them now. The profile of the 265's is the same ... 60
