What tyres for Tunisia/Morocco
Hello all
Might be a stupid question, but new to all this,
any advice on which tyres would be best for
a Tunisia or Morocco Expedition. Standard tyres or Goodyear MTR's

horses for courses!!! Oct Tunisia trip I had road tyres, two cars had AT tyres & one MTRs. I got one puncture but stuck in sand a bit less, saying that as soon as brain switched off I got stuck. Roads better on sand but more vulnerble to rock damage (though got my puncture on sand). Pros & cons to all types. Will prob stick to roads for next trip.

Abo23 was a great trip, can't wait for next one. I have MTRs or 17" road tyres to choose from and made the decision that punctured road tyres aren't an issue as I have a shed full of them. My puncture was from nerfing it into a dune side recovering another car out of deep sand so was unlucky. The less time digging 3 tonnes of D3 out of the sand the better. Saying that I did have 2 spares in the car and one underneath just in case.

Don't fit the MTRs for sand, the AT2 are much better suited. The MTRs will just dig in. Always carry 2 spares on rims.

Abo23 just keep your eyes open for 17 D3 rims on eBay, cheap as chips if you don't need as new ones! 235/70 17s, 5 spoke types. 18" rims with part worn tyres are also cheap & would be as good. Remember U need 6 or 7. I'll post a pic of mine later.

MTR's are fine in Sand if you use them properly AT2's are Great but sidewalls are in the rocky bits if they are airred down
ATR's the way forward for 19's Gonna try RunFlats soon
