PCH here. The bracket was made up by my company's maintenance workshop. It's made out of 3mm mild steel plate with a centre rib welded for strength. I made up a cardboard template which they copied from. The bracket fits to the existing blind cylindrical inserts in the radiator support panel. The inserts are easily threaded with a bolt. I used bolts just long enough not to bottom out on the insert.
Just remember if you mount the UHF aerial this way the grill is not easily removed without first undoing the aerial.
The rest you can see in the pics. Any questions feel free to ask.
I'm off on a 4WD snow trip this weekend with some guys from another forum. Going to try out my Cooper ST's in the mud and snow for the first time. If I get stuck then I'll fit my 4WD chains

PCH what size Coopers did you fit. I'm looking at fitting 245/70 r17 STT to mine at the moment but I'm wondering if they'll be too noisy to leave on all the time [ I'll probably buy a set of Mullins wheels in a 17' size to fit them on]TDV6 HSE Zambezi/Tundra

Mate,
Forget CSA/Mullins for wheels for the D3. They won't make them for it. See this link for more detail an pics and scroll down to the bottom to find the right post in the thread.
The Coopers I fitted are the SureTrac LT245/70R17. I didn't go for the new STT with armour trek because I didn't want the extra noise from the tread. The SureTrac are noisy enough for me. BTW I only put them on for off-roading and hitting the ski resorts where you must carry snow chains and you can't get a 4WD snowchain to fit the 18" tyre without fouling the front suspension - believe me I tried.

Re UHF
I have mounted my TX3400 remote head on the front of the ashtray after unclipping the ashtray facia. The radio is mounted under the passenger seat. More pictures in the gallery.

Thanks for the info anthill !!
Good to see the same model uhf mounted in a Disco3.
BTW, how did you mount the speaker unit under the passenger seat ?
Do you have SatNav ? Cause I think that's where the DVD player is ?
Also, the uhf/vhf antenna mount on the side - did you have to drill new holes ? or the holes are already there ?
thanks again - especially for the pics !2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

Hi bashir,
I did drill two holes for the side mount, I originally fixed it with automotive double sided tape and although it seemed very secure did not trust it, I have my ham radio VHF/UHF antenna on that bracket. The actual UHF CB antenna is on a bracket mounted through the grill, same design as the photo posted by freeflytim, follow that link for details. I do not have the satnav (hence the GPS) so there is nothing under either of the front seats. The radio is secured to the carpet using large short self tappers, I used this method in my TD5 without a problem.
