UK solution for LED trailer lights

Does anyone have a UK based solution for LED trailer lights. I've read the threads on the pulse shunt but they seem to be quite expensive and mainly Aus based.

I've got the option to re-wire a solution into the trailer if I need to but the best solution would be to keep the LED rear lights. Obviously I don't want to cause any problems with the vehicle electrics as my main concern but I'd love to get an option sorted.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Steve

Simplest, cheapest solution is a 22W globe wired in parallel with each of the indicator circuits of the trailer. You can even just wire one of the indicator circuits

Try led autolamps.co.uk and search for load resistor easy to wire in between pos and neg on your trailer indicator circuit but put one on each side, think they are about a fiver each, they may also do them on fleabay, they should sort out any led compatible issues you may have.

Have you tried the trailer, thought the D4 as it had LED lights was already set up for trailers with LED's as well.

Trailer LED's work fine on my D4. The only issue is the trailer flasher does not work on the instument panel and the reversing sensors do not switch off automatically when reverse is selected. as I tow alot of different trailers I just cope by switching off the sensors when required. The trailer indicator lamps are no good anyways if the resistance is false (22w globe or resistor) you don't know if the LED's are actually working or not, which is the whole purpose of the dash light? I think that's the case anyways??
